A tale of two sales.

Happy 2012! The drought is over - let the hunting season resume! As a rule, the holidays are generally a slow season for estate sales. That's why I was chomping at the bit to get out to two estate sales this weekend - one on a lake, and the other on a river. (This IS Minnesota, after all, there's water everywhere.)

Both were clean, well-organized and in very nice homes, but inside, they were polar opposites. Sale 1 on the lake was very classic with collectibles, items from local artists, high-end furnishings and hobby items for boating, photography and sewing. You get the picture. Sale 2 on the river was colorful with toys, craft supplies, Disney EVERYTHING and loads of Elvis. It was like visiting your refined grandparents one day, and your wacky ones the following day.  All in all, I think I found something for everyone. But it's funny to look at our haul and note the stark contrast between the items' origins. Check it out - can you guess where these came from?

Correct answers: The Irish sign is from Sale 2, the map is from Sale 1, the Hollywood pennant is from Sale 2, the Gucci wallet is from Sale 1 and the Elvis proclamation is from Sale 2. Did you get 'em all?

These items will soon be available on my shop, JennythingVintage, as soon as I can research and write a convincing argument for each piece. 2012, it's on!
